
Narooma is located at the mouth of the Wagonga Inlet 348 km south of Sydney via the Princes Highway. It is a popular seaside resort being almost surrounded by sparkling sapphire blue waters. Narooma is truly a spectacular part of the Nature Coast. Gulaga – Mt. Dromedary creates an impressive backdrop to the expansive waters of Wagonga Inlet, and 8 km out to sea is the famous Montague Island, which is now a nature reserve.
Fishermen looking for some excitement are well catered for by a wide range of charter boats. The boats may also be charted for whale watching and visits to Montague Island nature reserve.
The unique villages of Central Tilba and Tilba, nestled at the foot of the scared Gulaga, are just 20 km south of Narooma. The atmosphere of these two villages will remind you of a bygone era. There are a wide range of arts and crafts for all who appreciate hand made goods.
The Umbarra Cultural Centre. provides a unique opportunity for visitors to experience the complete indigenous culture of the Yuin people. Four-wheel drive tours to sacred sites are conducted from the centre.
Narooma Visitors Centre is located on the Princes Hwy Narooma. It is well worth a visit to view the large replica Montague Island lighthouse which is on display within the visitors centre.
